Notes from the Leadership Summit
Don’t know if you’ve ever attended the annual Leadership Summit at Willow Creek (or at one of the satellite locations). I went a couple years ago and loved it. World-class speakers on leadership from both the church and non-church worlds. It’s going on right now (August 5th – 6th). I just discovered that the Communications Guy at Willow is posting notes from all the talks. Pretty cool. You can access them here.
You can also access highlights of the sessions here.

I was at the Leadership Conference. It was inspiring and gave me fuel as a servant leader in the church. The Summit lifts up those leaders serving in the local church because the local church is the hope for the world.
I heard and am heeding these messages;
I need to lead from a place of hope
Bill Hybels encouraged listening to God’s whisper
Continue to set Big Hairy Audacious Goals
According to Andy Stanley there are some problems that shouldn’t be solved
The land in between is fertile ground for transformational growth in Jesus, an awesome book by Jeff Manion
There is great power in small teams
The cute Tom’s Shoe guy says I can’t be bashful if I want to make change
Jack Welch stressed being an authentic leader
The disciples learned as much from Jesus’ troubles as they did from his strength
And that leadership development takes sheer discipline
My head is still swimming and my heart is full.
